One thief rejected Jesus. The other recognized who was hanging beside him. He had nothing left to offer—no time to make things right, no good works to prove himself. He simply turned to Jesus in faith and asked to be remembered. And Jesus answered, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

That moment is one of the clearest pictures of grace and mercy in Scripture. Two guilty men were beside the Savior. One rejected Him. One turned to Him—and was forgiven. He didn’t earn salvation. Jesus gave it to him.
